Apart from adversely changing the tax on pensions, taking away SERPS from pensioners who are already receiving it will cause even greater hardship, especially as SERPS was earned through a lifetime of paying National Insurance Contributions.
The needs of these pensioners must be taken into consideration before any changes to the tax system are made.
