Rejected petition Make censorship on social media illegal
There is no place for censorship in a modern democracy. Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of British life.
The UK Government should make it illegal for social media operating in the UK to delete or discriminate content, channels or accounts without the account holder's consent or a court order.
More details
Every citizen and permanent resident in the UK is expected to ‘respect the rights of others, including their right to their own opinions’.
Recently social media have been deleting content on a mass scale. Censored content includes high profile scientists, doctors, alternative media, etc. criticising the official narrative about Covid-19.
YouTube said: “YouTube has clear policies prohibiting any content that disputes the existence and transmission of Covid-19 as described by the WHO and the NHS”.
