Rejected petition Save HMS Pymouth

More details

HMS Plymouth served with distinction in the Falklands War, taking part in every significant action of the conflict; from the re-taking of South Georgia (the surrender document was signed in her wardroom), bombarding shore targets with her twin 4.5” guns and protecting shipping in San Carlos Water from attacking Argentine aircraft.

Yet she is to be sent abroad for scrap in the very near future.

In this, the 30th anniversary year of the conflict, we find this to be a particularly insensitive action and we ask the Minister for Culture, Media & Sport to put a stop to this and save her for future generations as a visitor attraction, learning centre and memorial to all those who lost their lives 30 years ago 8,000 miles from home.
