Closed petition Assistance Dog education

Closed on

At school and during introductory periods at work, people are often shown short educational films on certain topics.
Most people have heard of guide dogs, but many are unaware that they are a sub-type of Assistance Dog.

This petition asks for a short educational film about the different kinds of Assistance Dogs to be made, suitable for viewing by both school children and adults at work, perhaps as part of disability education refreshers.

Such a film would ideally be presented by a disabled person with their Assistance Dog, demonstrating the tasks that they perform, and touching on the different kinds of dogs (hearing dog, medical alert, psychiatric mitigation), and explanations on different degrees of blindness (e.g. not everybody just sees blackness), different types of hearing loss, and the reasons that people may use a wheelchair and need a mobility dog, e.g. Hypermobility Syndrome.
