Access to local swimming is a public health issue and local pools are used by young and old, rich and poor.
Council cuts mean that some areas will lose their pools at a time when London is receiving £billions for new Olympic venues.
Government needs to act to preserve local swimming pools for local people and ensure that where there is only 1 pool for miles around that this pool is not subject to closure through cuts.
