Every survey of UK employers reflects that they need an improvement in graduate and school leaver "employability skills" such as business and customer awareness, communication, self-management, etc.

These skills are required by EVERY job, but are rarely taught - much less assessed - by the UK education system.

There is room in the curriculum to put employability skills on the same compulsory footing as literacy and numeracy, but defined and delivered by and with business.
