'beauty' pageants for children are on the increase here in the UK.

even overlooking the obvious obsession with looks & physical features, placing pressures on children from a young age to conform to mainstream, commercially driven concepts of lifestyle, culture & self confidence is unquestionably harmful to the development of children & their right to grow up with an expansive view of what life & culture has to offer.

Those who sign this petition ask the UK government to take the lead & ban all beauty pageants for children, thus showing the rest of the world that we value the right of all children to have a childhood & to have access to a richer view of life.
