Rejected petition Invest in Cycling
More details
It would be much easier for cyclists if the government increased their budget on dedicated cycle ways and other facilities that would help cyclists get to places more easily.
This would mean that pedestrians would not have to worry about cyclists on the pavement and drivers would not have to worry about inexperienced cyclists on the road.
Surely in this day and age, with ever increasing fuel prices and diminishing supplies of fossil fuels, where polllution is a serious problem and the number of overweight adults and children is rising, the government should invest in cycling.
The success of the Mayor's rent-a-bike scheme shows us that, given the means and opportunity to cycle, the public will.
