Petition Festival of Great Britain 2014

Great Britain should hold a new festival to celebrate its unity, culture, history, commerce and its place in the world.
The festival should draw upon the sense of national pride that will build through 2012.
And the festival should involve all parts of the British isles, with the major cities all involved in significant events.
The festival should be spread over 6 months, with a build-up from March to a special week of celebration in September, and that build up should flow/pass through every part of the isles (and perhaps the commonwealth) with the week in September concluding with events in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
Only the government can commence such an enterprise and it must be initiated, supported and coordinating by the Cabinet Office.
Note: due to the possibility of an election in 2015 this festival has to happen in 2014 or 2016
