Rejected petition Give the House of Common's fig trees

More details

Recently the London Evening Standard reported that the 4 fig trees in the H of C's atrium have cost the tax payers of GB over £400,000.00 to maintain. In a cost saving excercise, the annual maintenance contract has recently been reduced to £18,000.00 from £32,000.00
This is a ridiculous waste of money when people in the real world are deciding wheather to eat or heat.
The £18,000.000 annual maintenance cost should be reduced to zero by cutting the trees down and removing the liability altogether.
