Rejected petition Take into account 2019/20 tax year for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme

The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme doesn’t take into account the 19/20 tax year, meaning if you started a business in the 18/19 tax year and made more income from a previous employer that year even though the following tax year (19/20) you have a whole year self employed you are not entitled.

More details

New small businesses are getting no support just because they started a business at the wrong time. They have had successful 19/20 tax years what isn’t even looked at even though they pay their taxes.
People have been made redundant in 2018/2019 forcing them to go into self employment and it’s unfair that they suffer more due to uncontrollable circumstances.
