Plans are afoot to change the way social care is provided for adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues with no new money being provided in what effectively is a privatisation of council run local services up and down the land. This will throw more public sector workers on the dole and put the onus on service users to effectively arrange their own care packages something many are just not equipped to do - the government sees it as an opportunity for third sector organisations to ' cash in' but the reality is that Serco/Atos and co will probably get the contracts as they are doing with DLA/PIP payments
