Rejected petition road maintenance

Recently the standard of Britains roads have deteriorating. Potholes rapidly appear and take a while to be repaired. Also why does it take one person to come out and mark the pothole with yellow paint, then another person comes to fill the pothole in afterwards. Why not just get people to fill the potholes in and cut out the middle man saving money. We need to get Britains roads up to a suitable standard.

Road maintenance in England (with the exception of the Highways Agency's motorway and main A-road network) is the responsibility of local highway authorities. Road maintenance is a devolved matter in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (and, generally speaking, the roads are the responsibility of the relevant local authorities). if your complaint is about the Highways Agency's network, then you may wish to resubmit your petition in those terms).
