Parliament should recognise that this nation, and indeed the world, is vastly over-populated and the demands that the current global population is making on energy, food and water resources is unsustainable and fatally damaging to the atmosphere and global eco-systems.

MPs should also recognise that the only way that 21st Century living standards can be maintained indefinately is with a massively reduced population utilising the Earth's resources in a way that can be shown to be sustainable.

The signaturies of this petition implore our representatives to call a UN summit at which an agreement on a massive reduction in human population in all nations, via birth control methods, can be discussed.

If no such agreement is met then, inline with scientific forecasts, eco-systems will collapse, climate change, global famine and global conflict will occur, peak-oil will be a reality and Western standards of living will come to an end - as might liberal civilisation as we know it.
