Journalist Ebrima B. Manneh was arrested in July 2006 and has been held incommunicado and without trial ever since, even though a West African regional court has called for his release. He has still not been released to this day in Gambia.

Ebrima Manneh's family has denied the news that Ebrima is alive and in the US, as stated on Tuesday 22nd May by the Gambian Chief of Police who allegedly based his information on a report of Interpol.
