Rejected petition End UK funding of and participation in the Eurovision Song Contest

It is time to end our annual humiliation in what has long ceased to be a music event and is now simply a popularity contest. We only appear in the final because we have "bought" our place there with the millions of pounds we contribute. That money could be put to better use, particularly in the current climate. Our influence in europe is hardly likely to be effected by our withdrawal!
