Water companies waste 3.4 billion litres of water a day through leaks, enough to service over 21 Million households.

A lot of the responsibility for conserving water is being given to the householder, the water companies need to be forced to do more themselves.

The Government should set tough but realistic targets to recuce leaks through better investment. There should be a series of fines in place if water companies do not reach targets given to reduce leaks over the next 2-5 years.
