Closed petition No Lords Reform without a Referendum
Closed on
The Government proposes to change the method of selection of Members of the House of Lords. This is a key part of our constitution, and thus should be subject to a referendum.
Having already granted the public a referendum on the relatively insignificant subject of a change in the electoral system for the House of Commons, we insist that a proposed move from appointment to election for the Lords must be approved by the public in a referendum.
