Petition put a tax on all uk internet sales

i would like to see a tax raised on all internet sales to UK postcodes.
the benefit's are;
money will be raised for Government.
it can be done relatively simply.
it will help high street shops.
it will increase employment by helping to save the high street.
with internet sales increasing quickly i cannot see this tax halting growth in internet sales.
i think the government should promise to withdraw this tax and reduce vat once the country's deficit is paid off.
