Recognise the detremental effect unjust and exorbitant business rates are having on small rural businesses, especially petrol filling stations , and the impact their inevitable closure is having on local communities. Unemployment of staff, the added expense and pollution caused by having to make unneccessary journeys to find fuel, to name just two.
