Petition Allow Estranged Parents A Say In How DLA For Children Is Used
More details
Currently it is only the parent/guardian who receives the DLA for the child who is entitled to decide how it is used e.g. Motability car etc.
This ignores the fact that when parents are separated/divorced this leave the non-entitled parent without a say in how this benefit should be used for the child and often go without access to this
As the DLA is for a child with additional needs etc, I believe the rules should be reviewed to reflect that both parents are responsible for the child and both parent should have access to this benefit on behalf of the child
