Rejected petition Reduce VAT

I call for the Chancellor to reduce VAT to its previous rate of 17.5%, to provide some much needed stimulation to the UK economy.
The VAT rise to 20% has eaten into families budgets and hit the poorest hardest.
Whilst the deficit cannot be ignored, the state of the economy needs to be improved after a period of little growth.
Growth should be the number one priority of the Goverment, to provide a positive and stable future for the economy, and also for job creation.
