Closed Regulate Customs Clearance Fees

Goods imported from outside of the E.U with a value exceeding £15.00 are subject to V.A.T and may also be subject to duty.

If customs charges are payable upon importation, Royal Mail charge a handling fee to cover the costs for carrying out customs procedures paying any customs duties or VAT due and collecting it from you.
This handling fee can far outweigh the charges being collected.

The government should limit the fee couriers can charge for collecting customs charges. I would suggest 25% of the total charges capped at £15.00
