The recent GCSE English results are demonstrative of a signifcant negative impact on students' grades, caused by a notable shift in grade boundaries between the January and June exams.

We urge the government to apply pressure to the relevant examining bodies, encouraging them to regrade students' results according to the January grade boundaries.

Additionally, the decision to change grade boundaries during the academic year should be re-examined with the view that boundary changes should happen annually and consistently.
