The UK has now got the highest fuel duty in the whole of Europe.

The cards claim that, out of every £30 spent at the pumps, £18 is paid in fuel duty and VAT, with only £1 out of the remaining £12 going to the retailer.

The government wants to increase fuel duty to £0.61 pence per litre from Jan 2013.

The UK can no longer sustain these increases in fuel duty. Our economy is struggling as it is and we will never recover if these increases continue.
