Petition Protection of Children: Underage Marriages
More details
Marriage of any child under the age of 16, whether British or of any other nationality should not be recognised. Further, any marriages contracted elsewhere intended to establish permanent residency in Great Britain where one or both parties are below 16 years of age should also be invalid and attract neither social nor financial benefit.
Any parent or guardian allowing or forcing a child to marry and those complicit be subject to prosecution for breach of this and all existing paedophilia, rape and sexual assault legislation. Penalties: to include prison terms, Sex Offenders Register, financial provision for the child’s future whether here or if returned to its country of origin.
Polygamous marriages performed outside Great Britain should be invalid and no underage child admitted to Great Britain, particularly those seeking permanent residence. Those complicit in bringing a child, through polygamy, to Great Britain should attract the penalties described in paragraph 2.
