Many people are put off cycling by fear of competing with the traffic in towns.
Councils should be made to produce a cycle path network policy that joins together the piecemeal pieces of cycle path that exist.
If cycle commuting is made safer then more people would stop using their cars for short journeys.
This would reduce congestion and improve the fitness of the commuters.
