Closed Suspension of the DFID and the suspension of foreign aid for 12 months

We the undersigned request that the Government suspend with immediate effect the DFID re-evaluate the use and effectiveness of public funds, the details of which are freely available on the internet but culminate in DFID’s budget, which will rise by 35 per cent in real terms in the next three years, or more than £3billion a year.

In Addition to this we request that the Government suspend with immediate effect all overseas aid for a period if 12 months, to re-evaluate the use, purpose and need of such aid as well as providing relief to the UK economy in a challenging time.
