Petition Medals for Soldiers serving in Ireland before 1974

More details

I believe that Soldiers serving in Northern Ireland before 1974 were carrying out the same duties to uphold the peace.

Some Soldiers served 2/3 years in Northern Ireland.
during the 50s and 60s
There was no set time for them to serve. Only occasional leave.
Soldiers came under fire many times and had to risk lives to apprehend IRA Subjects.

I believe that Soldiers serving during those periods
should be recognised and receive the same Award.

Up to this time no such award has been given.

I urge the Government to grant to these Soldiers the
recognition they deserve
