This would introduce an additional 1 pence to the item of every item which has VAT on it. The cost of the item may go up by one pence or the retailer may choose to fit the bill themselves, regardless, once pence of every product which is an item which has VAT attached would have the '1p tax'.

Every penny from the '1p tax' would go DIRECTLY into sorting out the deficit, rather than cutting the NHS or other services that are depriving the poor or disadvantaged.
