Closed petition Bring back British Railways

Bring back British Railways, there are so many obvious reasons to do so since the Beeching Plan. Restoration of this would dramatically increase so many aspects of our nation including:
• Tourism (including to coastal towns that are desperately in need of investment)
• Business & employee transport from surrounding areas & less road traffic
• Return of British engineering firms to major cities
• Stop franchising running with profit
• Stop franchises from bidding too much and raising prices to pay it back
• Lead us forward into an economically friendly future
• Refuse anything less than a network that symbolises what was the birth of our modern nation
• The amount of passengers each year has been rising significantly, an opportunity that would be scandalous not to support.
• We hosted the 2012 olympics, and we found hidden pride for our own nation- now let's pounce on it.
• We already have the infrastructure
