Utilities such as gas, electricity, and water are basic needs for everyone. They should be provided by the state, not for profit.

It makes no sense to have a market for these utilities, because all the companies offer exactly the same product. The only choice consumers have is over which company they will be billed by!

Energy companies made a profit of over £2billion last year. That could pay for a lot of teachers, nurses, pensions, etc.
