This is just the excuse that our politicals were waiting for. They have not yet dared to put british boots on the ground but now there is a chance they may get their wish under the NATO umbrella. William Haigh looked like the cat who got the cream during a BBC News interview today - he simply cannot wait for us to get british soldiers killed in Syria as they are being killed in Afghanistan.
