The current limitation on the power of air rifles for non-FAC usage (12ftlb) is inherently unbalanced.
For example, the following items have almost no controls on their ownership or acquisition.

Hunting Crossbow = 70ftlb +
Longbow = 40ftlb +
Slingshot = 26ftlb +

The above items are completely uncontrolled in any way yet are significantly more deadly than even a FAC air rifle.

The Home Offices’s own figures in 2010/2011 show that 4% of all homicides with a projectile weapon involved a crossbow (0% involved an air weapon).

The limit of 12ftlb either needs to be raised to 26ftlb in conjunction with a nationwide registration program (Including balistics information for projectile tracing) for all air weapons crossbows and bows, or limits and restrictions need to be placed on the power and ownership of bows and crossbows.
