Rejected petition "Tracy Beaker" television franchise.

More details

We, the undersigned, are of the belief that although Dame Jacqueline Wilson's successful book does not breach moral standards of media accessible to this nation's children, the resulting television series "The Story of Tracey Beaker" and follow up series "Tracy Beaker Returns" have an adverse effect on the behaviour and morality of our children.

Therefore, we would like to look into methods either to modify this television franchise in order to eliminate the components which promote poor behaviour and make care life seem attractive to children or, if that is not possible, an outright ban on this horrific outrage that our children are exposed on a daily basis.

We implore that action is taken to protect the youth and future of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Thank you for reading.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Responsibility for what is broadcast on television and radio rests with the broadcasters and the organisations which regulate broadcasting - the Office of Communications (OFCOM), the BBC Trust and the Welsh Fourth Channel Authority (S4C). They are independent of the Government.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
