Cap lottery payouts to £100,000, have the same jackpot but split it between more people. £100,000 can make a significant difference to anyone. If the recent £56 million payout had been handled in this way 560 people would have won 100k an amount that would pay off a mortgage or make buying a house or starting a business possible without completely changing their lives, which under the current system is so often destructive.
