Rejected petition Censure the BBC Trust for paying a whole years salary to George Entwistle
More details
The BBC Trust is paying George Entwistle a whole years salary for resigning after 2 months work [http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/bbc/9671132/Threat-to-Lord-Patten-as-BBC-chief-George-Entwistle-gets-1.3m-pay-off.html].
During the 2 months, George Entwistle gave 2 interviews (one to the Culture, Media and Sport Committee and the other to the Today show on Radio 4) which showed he was not competent for the job as Director General (DG).
I am calling for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to censure the BBC Trust for wasting licence fee money on a man who has resigned of his own volition. George Entwistle should only be paid for the time he was active as the DG of the BBC.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The BBC is independent of Government. This is a matter for the BBC's Executive Board and the BBC Trust.
It is the responsibility of the BBC Trust to ensure that the BBC delivers financial efficiency and hold the Executive to account for its performance in delivering value for money.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
