Legalising alcohol to 16 and 17 year old's (excluding spirits) in bars, pubs, and clubs, will encourage a safer and more social environment in which young adults can enjoy the occasional drink in a way that doesn't encourage dangerous, underage drinking on the street as well as unwanted antisocial behaviour. Such measures or similar schemes are law in European countries such as Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, and Lietchenstein. It is highly unlikely that 16 and 17 year old's are biologically different in these countries compared to those in the UK.
