Petition Future PCC Elections should not be run by UK Home Office

Having experienced the 2012 Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections we, the undersigned, do not have confidence in the capability of the UK Home Office to run such important elections.

The time-scales imposed and approach taken to these elections by UK Home Office unnecessarily excluded potentially good candidates and subsequently compromised the ability of potential voters to cast a well informed vote.

It is further noted that the UK Home Office appears to have chosen not to follow much of the advice received from various expert and experienced sources.

We believe that in future PCC elections should be run by the same authorities and in the same way as other UK wide Elections.
