Newcastle City Council are planning to close City Pool in March 2013, home to City of Newcastle ASC and 200 swimmers and has produced hundreds of great swimmers over the years including 3 Olympians and a whole host of swimmers who have represented the club nationally and Great Britain internationally. If we allow the council to close this grade 11 listed building to the public and the club, not only will the pool remain empty and unused, it will almost certainly mean the end of CoNasc as we know it, as there are very limited alternative facilities that could house such a large club.
