Petition Law basis for future Press code

Government must establish a law to ensure the observance of any future agreed Press Code - so worded that it cannot be the beginning of a slippery slope to Government control of the Press.

This must be possible. "Where there's a will there's a way. "

This should be done because it is THE WILL OF THE MAJORITY who want a system they can believe will work - and continue working.

We respect the Pm's right to hold a different opinion. But his fears, an individual's fears, should not over-rule the will of the majority.

We totally share his desire that this legal basis should not be the beginning of that slope that nobody in their right mind wants.
