Rejected petition no parliamentary interference with the press

Although the press need strong regulation, and there should be easy redress for those who are hurt by false reports, I propose that there should be no Parliamentary interference in the press. Any law could, in future, be changed to the detriment of a free press. Independence from Government is essential.
