Children and young people face a significant amount of violence when in contact with staff in the police and prison services. This petition calls for the introduction of cameras with sound recording in youth custodial settings, police cells and vehicles, and on the cothing of every prison or police officer who interacts with young people. By introducing these cameras, staff behaviour could be better monitored and this would ensure greater transparency and accountability.
