>Please ask that the Government to "call a halt to annual farm hedge cutting" (unless it is necessary for public safety - e.g down the roadside of hedges). And that farm hedging should be allowed to berry or fruit for at least 2-3 years before cutting: this will restore a valuable food source for a variety of species, and help reverse the rapid decline in the wild bird population.<
