Given that it now appears that much of the delay, and consequent legal costs, is attributable to failings on the part of public servants, determining the truth and bringing those responsible to account is in everyone's best interests and essential to start to repair confidence in the services that failed the familes so badly.

While welcoming the government decision to fund the legal costs for the new inquest. This petition proposes that all legal fees, past, present, and future in respect of this tragedy be met from the public purse.
