Closed petition Life Skills Classes for Children/Teens
Closed on
We, the undersigned, believe the Government should incorporate mandatory “Life Skills” Classes into the Curriculum, in order to prepare our children for the Real World. We believe they should be learning skills that prepare them for Life, not just Further Education. With families and society as they are, it is imperative that future generations don’t suffer from, or make, the mistakes that we have made.
Life Skills meaning:
Money Management (Budgeting, Credit, Debt),
Interpersonal/Relationship Skills (Communication, Empathy, Respect, Conflict Resolution),
Sex Education (Puberty, Sex, Contraception, Consequences, Emotions),
Roles and Responsibilities of Parenthood,
What it means to be someone’s Friend/Partner/Mother/Father/Teacher,
Abuse (What it is, who to turn to),
Morals, Values, Ethics and Integrity,
First Aid and Emergencies,
Basic Psychology and Coping Skills (Life Events, Stress, Depression, Bullying),
Health and Well-Being,
Work Experience,
FUN/R&R!
