When will goverment or enviro agency get a grip of this problem that Britain gets a lot more rain.Yes they have put up some flood defences after there has been a flooding problem!.
What they keep telling us is that the ground is saturated and if it rains it could well cause flooding !
As we all know or should know is that the rivers are the way that excess water caused by rain water and waste water finds its way back to sea,but the problem that we now have is that the waterways etc. are mostly neglected due to not wanting to spend money and the rulers from Brussels .What should happen is that all the rivers in this country need to be dredged out and made wider to allow a greater volume of water to flow out to sea, and the dredged wasted spoils put back on to the river bank which would also make the river bank higher and retain the river water longer as what has been dredge out of the rivers and culvets has in the first place come of the banks.
