The news that railway fares in this country have, for the 10th year straight, gone up by more than inflation (with some going up by substantially more) is tantamount to a national disgrace.

Therefore, the time has come to put an end to this policy, and to create a new, independent body tasked with the setting and maintainence of all rail fares, together with a return to the split of income returning to 50% from Government/50% from the farebox.
