Increase state pension from age 65 to £17000for a couple where one of them is aged 65. And to £14500 single persons on reaching 65.
The pension to increase by 5 per cent per year to age 70 then by 7.5 per cent per year thereafter.
To finance this:-
1. Cancel pension credit.
2. Increase allowances to £20,000 per annum.
3. Cap MPs expenses to £5000 per year.
4. Cut the number of MPs to 400 nationwide.
5. Bring MPs end of term payments in line with industry redundancy payments.
6. Increase NI contributions by 3 per cent.
7. Decrease payments to lords by 30 per cent.
8. Allow people of working age to contribute to this higher pension from income.
9. Reduce the allowances to councillor s by 30 per cent and cap their expenses to a maximum of £3500 per year.
