The government should buy London homes for non-London based MPs instead of allowing MPs to rent their own. Each MP gets a budget to buy a London apartment up to the value of X. When the MP for an area is changed the new MP moves in.

This would save masses in wasted rent and provide an investment opportunity for taxpayer’s money.
